Water Update (August 2012)
The East Tennessee Development District annual reports continue to show the cost of MUS water to be far below average for East Tennessee. Our regional system provides economies of scale that allow most of our utility districts to also provide water at below avera
MUS has completed over 90% of our automatically read water meters. These meters will reduce the labor required to read meters, will improve the accuracy, and provide us daily water readings. In time, we hope to develop programs that can detect water leaks at an early stage so we can notify customers before significant leaks occur.
Over the next year we anticipate adding a new water tank and pump station in the East Tennessee Industrial District (east industrial park) that will boost water pressure and increase fire flows.
